New Prayer Request for 10/31/2005

Please pray to end the poverty in our life. My husband and I have suffered greatly this year and have laid our hope in the Lord to heal and change our current situation. We have 3 young daughters who are counting on us. Please pray my husband finds a good steady job and that we have dependable transportation and some financial security! Also, pray for my mother who is mentally ill and my grandmother who is suffering with severe depression! Thank You and God Bless!

Parents' Prayer for Their Children

O God the Father of mankind,

who hast given unto me these my children,

and committed them to my charge to bring them up for Thee,

and to prepare them for eternal life:

help me with Thy heavenly grace,

that I may be able to fulfil

this most sacred duty and stewardship.

Teach me both what to give and what to withhold;

when to reprove and when to forbear;

make me to be gentle, yet firm;

considerate and watchful;

and deliver me equally from the weakness of indulgence,

and the excess of severity;

and grant that, both by word and example,

I may be careful to lead them

in the ways of wisdom and true piety,

This prayer request is for the grandmother of Amy, who has been diagnosed with breast cancer.....Saint Peregrine is the Patron Saint of cancer patients.

you have been called "The Mighty,"

"The Wonder-Worker,"

because of the numerous miracles

which you have obtained from God

for those who have had recourse to you.
For so many years you bore in your own flesh

this cancerous disease that destroys the very fibre of our being,

and who had recourse to The source of all grace

when the power of man could do no more.
You were favoured with the vision of Jesus

coming down from His Cross to heal your affliction.

Ask of God and Our Lady,

the cure of the sick whom we entrust to you,
Amy's grandmother, Dora, and also Jane Higgins.

Aided in this way by your powerful intercession,
we shall sing to God, now and for all eternity,
